CHAPTER 14

Giselle arose and felt herself again, pure and natural like she always used to feel before entering the never ending game. And so, ironically, the entrapment met its miraculously end along the city of desire. She looked around while her sword began disintegrating as if it had been only an illusion all this time. She stared at it, watching how the pretty snowflakes were landing on the street around her, then seeing their rainy dance above the fountain and covering it with some whiteness that shone like a frozen lake of an imaginary tale. This fantasy endured not only on the lady's surroundings, even after walking towards the mystical fountain to contemplate the nudity of the sky reflected in the snow, but also to Grace, the winner of the delusional contest.
Giselle took a deep breath and smiled before looking up at the smoking heaven crying out of freedom, a contagious happiness that put the girl on mood for spreading her arms, belittling her eyes and staring up while feeling the rain of snow coming down to the street. There, an image of a young girl with long and straight black hair, with beautiful red eyes, showed itself in Giselle’s mind, as if she was thanking her.
Everything vanished, like holograms, like visions of a tormented soul elaborating on its final embrace, right after resulting victorious over a stupid melodrama that never even mattered. Why did it matter so much?
Finally, Giselle was seen going around the fountain, towards a lake not too far away, approaching little by little to that scent of happiness she felt back then, a viral environment that began like a dark storm and ended upon a glacial fantasy never seen before. She stood still for just a moment... a moment to contemplate the freedom through some distant smile, so strongly present at the same time. Serious again, Giselle did not understand why the game abandoned her when Mordoll was defeated, she did not quite get through the fact that this girl she saw in her mind could have been behind the inspirational charade that drove everything to madness once.
If only one could see the reflection in her eyes, the solitude of her heart towards the light that always wanted to shine.... If only one could appreciate the mirror of this grace, lovely turning into the beautiful Giselle… Perhaps one could truly understand.

Listen to my story...
It could take years to be told, but only a minute would be if only you were nice enough to read.
I start myself asking why we want so much to belong to one place when we actually belong nowhere. Why are we born to life without realizing how important it is the fact that we're only going to die?
Is there too much beauty in the world that it blinded us right after we were born? Why do we hate each other so much?
I traveled through space and time only to wake up and realize that I didn't move, not even once. I took a ride around the world and found nothing but emptiness and void. But this emptiness and void was around a full emotion called love. I discovered the amazing diamond between this nothingness surrounding it, I saw the truth with my own eyes, shimmering with all its might, and yet... I realized I was only dreaming again.
It cannot be explained, not even when I was right there... I lost inspiration, I got desperate and ruined the whole thing, but it was still acclaimed, this thing I saw, this life I lived, it meant so little to me but meant so much to others... Why is it that I couldn't get to appreciate it?
Because I purposely got lost, by design, by my own will, by myself. And I know... I got away from that vile thing they call "reality" and into this labyrinth of darkness I ended up lost. You want to know why, right? You want to know why I left alone a giant opportunity to shine like a star along many others, to experience the beauty of life and desire at the same time. You want to ask me why I turned my back and decided to enter the abyss of Nocturne and get lost on purpose... yeah.... You want to know.

I will tell you about that next time.
For now... just go. Close the book and read another story. It doesn't matter which one you pick since it will lead you right back here...
And when you return, I will be waiting. I will be here telling my story once again.
And maybe
Just maybe...
You'll be fortunate enough to know why.
